It is located approximately 12 km (7.5 miles) from the town center. The airport serves as one of the main points of entry to Banyuwangi, the eastern part of East Java, and the western region of Bali. It also provides access to nearby tourist destinations such as the Ijen volcano complex and Alas Purwo National Park.
